Meet Anthony

For Democrat Anthony Davis, Nashville has always been home.  He and Kim have been together for 20 years and call the Rosebank neighborhood home with their two children.  Their children attend Metro Nashville Public Schools (Rosebank Elementary) the same way Anthony and his sister, Mary Beth Ikard, did from kindergarten through high school.

A creative problem solver, in 2005, Anthony and a friend founded a web and print creative agency, iDesign Inc., in East Nashville.  Putting his marketing degree from Lambuth University to work, he served as their Owner and Marketing Director for ten years.  After iDesign was sold, Anthony founded East Nashville Beer Works to create something different in Nashville.

Founded in 2016, East Nashville Beer Works is not only a craft beer company, but its tap room has become a gathering space for a diverse list of community groups, friends, and neighbors from across Nashville and Middle Tennessee to come together and share ideas and fellowship. (Not only is it family friendly with its playground, but dog friendly as well.)

While Anthony served East Nashville, Inglewood, and Madison on the Metro Council for eight years, he has also served on several local nonprofit boards.  Anthony was chosen by the Metro Council to serve as interim State Representative after the unexpected death of Rep. Bill Beck.  Anthony had served as Rep. Beck’s campaign treasurer for several years and considered him a friend and mentor.

Anthony’s Leadership:

  • During his two terms on the Metro Council, served on Budget and Finance Committee for eight years, was the Chair of the Public Works Committee, and served as the Rules Committee Chair.

  • Legislative champion for Nashville’s “Do Better bill” mandating better treatment of workers on city projects

  • Secured over $20 million in funding for the construction of Stratford High School

  • Countless neighborhood projects planned, and funding secured including: Cornelia Airpark Playground, Cornelia Airpark Fitness Stations, Riverside Village Pedestrian improvements, and Sidewalks including Greenfield and Stratford Avenue

  • Growing East Nashville Beer Works from an idea into a thriving brewery with 25+ employees, that is expanding into Wilson County due to surging demand.
